MWC 2017: Sony Xperia XA1 And XA1 Ultra With Borderless Display Now Official

Together with the higher-end Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XZs, Sony has  announced two highly interesting midrange smartphones, the Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra. Both devices features a "borderless type of edge-to-edge" screen and capable specs.

The latest compact phone from Sony!

The Sony Xperia XA1 is a compact 5 inch handset w/ HD screen and Image Enhance technology. It's powered by MediaTek's 64 bit Helio P10 octa core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz paired with Mali T880 graphics. Then it has 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable to 256 GB storage, and 2,300 mAh battery w/ Qnovo Adaptive Charging tech.

The rest of the specification includes a 23 MP 1/2.3 inch Exmor RS rear camera w/ Hybrid AF, SteadyShot, and LED flash, 8 MP 1/4 inch Exmor R w/ AF and SteadyShot selfie camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A GPS, LTE, and Android 7.0 Nougat OS. It measures at 145 x 67 x 8 mm, weighs at 143 g, and will be available in black, white, pink, and gold.

On the other hand, the Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra is the bigger and slightly better spec'ed machine with 6 inch FHD screen w/ Image Enhance Technology. The Android phone is powered with a 2.3 GHz 64 bit Helio P20 octa core processor, Mali T880 graphics unit, 4 GB RAM, and 32 or 64 GB expandable storage.

However, at 6 inches, the phablet only has 2,700 mAh of battery which may not be enough to last for an entire day of use. Sony added their Qnovo Adaptive Charging tech though.


The rest of the specs are the same with the smaller XA1 except that it has a bigger and better 16MP 1/2.6 inch Exmor R selfie camera w/ AF, SteadyShot, and OIS.

The Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra will both be available by Spring of 2017. There will be matching Style Cover Stands available in White and Black together with a range of complementary accessories.

There's no info on their pricing yet though.
