This time, the newest member of the entry-midrange smartphones club with big battery capacity is from LG Electronics.

Dubbed as the LG X Power, this machine consist of average entry-midrange specs such as MediaTek's 1.3 GHz 64 Bit MT6735 quad core processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB storage, LTE connectivity, and 13 MP main camera.
What made this phone interesting are its large 4,100 mAh of battery capacity (up to 2 days battery life) w/ Quick Charge 2.0 support, 5.3 inch HD screen w/ 10 points of touch (better touch accuracy), and rare type (5 MP selfie camera (for this budget) w/ wide angle, tap to focus and screen flash.
Given those traits, this handset is positioned to be a good social media / multimedia device for anyone who wants a phone from a well trusted international brand without breaking the bank.

Just like what most affordable LG phone have, the X Power comes with a box that's easy to open with the basic highlights of the handset.

Upon checking what's inside, the package consist of a 1.8A USB wall charger (Quick Charge 2.0), long USB to micro USB data / charging cable, earbuds w/ mic and flexible L jack (should be durable), and SIM ejector tool. We also noticed that LG added a layer of screen protector to prevent scratches.
Overall, the LG's inclusions are above-average. The only missing thing there that they could have included is a silicon case.

There's really nothing that much special in the mostly plastic materials used in its unibody design except that it has Corning's Gorilla Glass 3 protection in its screen against unwanted damages.

While the phone feels decent durability-wise, getting a case is a must to ensure its longevity.
Design-wise, its a plus factor that it resembles the higher-end LG G5 in shape. It has great curves all over, the matte back paint finish is sleek, and the shiny chrome paint on the side doesn't look cheap at all. We also like that its black border screen bezels is far from thick, there's no noticeable camera hump at the back, and its one of the slimmest over 4K mAh phone in the market today.
It's one of the slimmest and lightest affordable phone with big battery capacity today!
Ergonomically, this LG X Power is simply joy to hold. It's in between a big and small smartphone that fits perfectly in our regular sized hands. It's also one of the lightest big battery capacity phone ever at just 142 g.
Lastly, we never had problems in reaching its on-screen Android keys and all its physical buttons.
Initial findings
1. The use of a 5.3 inch isn't common, but we find its size and sharpness just right. We also like that there's 10 points of touch for a better type / swipe experience.
2. The materials used with LG X Power is far from premium, but this should be durable enough for most. It also looks stylish for most.
3. It's 13 MP main camera looks decent, but it doesn't have a pro mode. Fortunately, the 5 MP front facing camera it is using is wide angle, has tap to focus, and a good type of screen flash.
4. The phone loads with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS w/ LG's familiar simple UI.
5. OTG works, there's LED notification, double tap to wake is accurate.

As of the moment
This is a solid contender from LG that should match the likes of Asus ZenFone 3 Max (ZC520TL) and Acer Liquid Zest Plus in terms of battery life. It's also the slimmest big battery capacity phone we tested this year that made it even more impressive on our first look and impressions.
However, it doesn't have the highest specs on paper compared against those two big battery capacity phones. Having said that, will LG's optimizations and brand reputation be enough to ensure its success?
