Huawei GR5 2017: Camera Samples From Amsterdam And Paris!
In the midrange category, the Huawei GR5 2017 is one of the best shooters around. Armed with dual cameras at the back, its designed to take high quality images. It's a reason why we are confident to let Chinee, our friend to borrow this handset as her main shooter in her trip to Amsterdam and Paris.

As a quick recap, the technology behind the dual main camera of this device is a 12 MP f/2.0 Sony IMX386 main camera w/ 6P lens, PDAF (focus) combined w/ a 2 MP secondary sensor for shallow depth of field. As a result, it can create beautiful background blurs and bokeh with the use of the "wide aperture" mode. The Sony IMX386 sensor is also a capable point and shoot shooter in lowlight even without the use of manual controls and night mode.
Weather is gloomy mostly which resulted to slightly darker shots, but the GR5 2017 preserved most of the detail. Adjusting the brightness via Photoshop or Snapseed won't make your photos grainy.
For indoor, as long as you have good lighting, shots would be great. Thanks to its bright f/2.0 aperture lens.
The main highlight of the GR5 2017 is its ability to create shots with shallow depth of field for awesome background blurs and DSLR-like "bokeh" effect. You can even refocus your shots even after taking the shot. It could be hit or miss, but once you did it correctly, results are wonderful.
Again, the bright f/2.0 Sony sensor will give you the ability to take bright and detailed stills even on auto mode. If you know how to use the manual mode or the night mode for long exposure, expect to get brighter results w/ less grains and better details.
For selfies, the GR5 2017 has an 8 MP f/2.0 main camera w/ wide angle lens. It also has several levels of beautification w/ make-up mode and on-screen for selfies even in dark places.
Once again, the Huawei GR5 2017 proved to be a wonderful shooter considering its low PHP 13,990 price tag.
